Did I mention I'm a winner?

I've been reading through my new book The Vegetable Gardener's Bible.  I really want to try some of his idea's.  However it is going to have to dry up before I can get anything done.

Did you know that onions need to be in the ground by Valentine's Day.  You can read about that here.

I'm a WINNER!

I found this great veggie gardening site a few weeks ago. It's called Veggie Gardener. It has tons of info about plants, tools, recipes...you name it, you can probably find it there. So I registered for a contest on Veggie Gardener and what do you know, I won. I won the coolest book. It's called The Vegetable Gardener's BIBLE.  I think I all ready love it!  Here's a quote from the back of the book. "Already loved for its friendly advice, vegetable-specific information, and unwavering commitment to organic methods, America's best-selling vegetable-gardening book now covers more plants and offers smart new solutions for small-space and extended-season gardening."  I've been browsing though and can't wait to sink my teeth into the meat of the book.  Thank you Veggie Gardener!

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds 2010 Seed Book

What a beautiful book. I have really enjoyed thumbing through the pages aand discovering new varieties. I can't wait to order.

However, my favorite part of the book is a quote in the striped tomato section.

"Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you're a thousand miles from the corn field." Dwight David Eisenhower

I love that!
